iPhone TIPS: Apple Store Spammed with Windows Logo [Must See Video]

Posted: 05 Jun 2011 12:01 AM PDT

Just plant a big Windows Logo on a Apple Store in broad daylight, so brutal!

Q: What is going on? A:  A group going by the name of ".WAV Collective" apparently spammed the soon-to-be Apple retail location in the Jungfernstieg section of Hamburg, Germany. Q: What did they do? A: They casually went up to the building posing as a team of construction workers, cordoned off a work site, and proceeded to screw big Windows logo, to the side of the store's black veil all in broad daylight ! Q: Why did they do that? A: It is not really clear, but the people of this collective are more "PC" than "Macs" I think :) And a PC stands for Intel+Microsoft (aka WinTel). We all know since last Friday, that Apple has a bigger market-share than Intel and Microsoft together! [source] A reaction caused by jalousie among the Wintel fanboys and girls maybe ? Meanwhile, the Windows Phone Mango tries to get born in the mobile market between Android and the iPhone. Lets hope for Microsoft, there is no need to use the phrase 'dead on arrival'.

iPhone TIPS: Santa 2011 brings iPad 3 LTE Retina ?

Posted: 04 Jun 2011 08:00 AM PDT

Q: What is going on? A: The rumor that Apple is shipping the iPad 3 this year 2011 is back! Q: What are the predictions this time? A: In February this year we noticed Daring Fireball's 6 months forward predictions. And those predictions still can come out correctly:
"...So, here's my guess at Apple's iPad plans for 2011:
An iPad 2, fairly soon. Say, a March announcement, shipping in the first week of April. Faster, more RAM, maybe more storage, thinner and lighter, a front-facing camera.1 Running iOS 4.3.
iOS 5, announced at a developer event in March, shipping in June.
iPad 3, shipping in September, announced at the annual iPod event. Running iOS 5.1, same as the next-generation iPod Touch.
"
Today, the wall street journal blog [link] quotes the suggestion from a Hong Kong based source named CLSA, which suggests an iPad 3 release before Christmas 2011.
wsj quotes:
"While most vendors appear fixated on matching the specs and features of iPad2, our checks suggest Apple will release iPad3 in time for the holiday season, sporting a better display and LTE capabilities."

A lot of people who are following Apple for years are in doubt of course. Traditionally there is 1 iPhone, 1 iPad and 1 iPod announcement a year. "Once a Year".  A logical update pattern is: in March an iPad, in June an iPhone and in September an iPod. And another iPad 3 this year will break this pattern. However, we all know that the competition (Android) is getting stronger. To make the competition harder to keep up with Apple, this could be a nice 'rumored'  move. The mentioned LTE capabilities is a about a faster radio for faster internet speeds, and we know there are providers investing in this new Long Term Evolution, but this technology is not in place in common yet. Because there are huge capacity problems with the current GSM 3G UMTS HSDPA radio net, caused by the explosive grow of "App-phones", it is expected that all big providers must invest in an upgrade to a faster LTE network. Otherwise, there is simply 'no service'
Also, I know as iPhone 4 owner, that an iPad 1 or iPad 2 without a Retina high resolution display is like watching an old-school VGA tube with low resolution pictures. A great iPad screen will push the sales and convince iPad 1 owners to upgrade and pull anyone in doubt over the line for the iPad '3'.  Lets see the Apple Worldwide Developers Conference 2011 [SOLD OUT] first, which starts from June 6-10 at San Francisco, Moscone.
