| iPhone TIPS: Bigger Bars in iOS 4.0.1 [picture] Posted: 03 Jul 2010 12:03 PM PDT  - by iphone-tips-tricks.com - Apple's relation with BARs. First iPhones were jail broken the BARs by hackers. Lately Apple "lost" an iPhone 4 prototype in a BAR and now the iPhone 4 has dropping BARs. What is going on here? Lets talk about the latter case. I was right from the beginning and I always have said that the so called dead grip issue is a fixable software issue and that while nearly the whole world was pointing at the new iPhone 4 antenna design. [proof1 proof2] Apple has published this letter yesterday regarding the "dramatic drop in bars". Some software calculation problem causes us to see more bars than the real reception strength but then drops two or more bars, when I "gripping it" tightly, while the real reception strength has dropped less than the worth of 2 bars. I hope iOS 4.0.1 will fix this optical problem and maybe more under the hood. The letter also mentioned about changing the bar sizes in iOS 4.0.1"We are also making bars 1, 2 and 3 a bit taller so they will be easier to see."So I thought about how this exactly should look like. The result is shown in this picture.We wait for iOS 4.0.1 or (whatever the update will be called) and see if I was close or not.
