Enter Custom Fields from Windows Live Writer Posted: 23 Dec 2009 11:33 AM PST One thing you miss while publishing blog posts from Windows Live Writer is that you cannot add Custom fields from the editor. Thats the reason I left using it since, I always had to define Thumbail image and Theme fields in some of the articles. So, Wordpress uers- Now you can add Custom fields from Windows Live Writer. Windows Live Writer is undoubtedly one of the best, but the best product that Microsoft has made after Windows 98 SE, Today I think Live Writer is the best editor for Wordpress there, the only detail that was missing was able to handle well “Custom Fields” and this need is satisfied by the use of 3rd party plugin. The plugin for Windows Live Writer installs very easily, just download the .dll and store it in the folder C: / Program Files / Windows Live / Writer / Plugins, then start the program and you will see the 3 plugins enabled that we just installed. Why three? Because here’s one to use the custom fields, Second for moderating comments as approved or marking them as spam, and the third (the least useful) to change the tagline of our blog, all from our Windows Live Writer. I hope you try it and tell me whether you find it productive or not? Enter Custom Fields from Windows Live Writer is an article on: Blogsolute Random Posts |
Posted: 23 Dec 2009 10:00 AM PST IMHO, keyboard shortcuts are needed on QWERTY keyboard devices to help justify the compromise in size of the device and the N900 has a few shortcuts that you may find useful. Did you notice till now that there is a real Ctrl key on the N900? Kudos to Nokia for including this since so many times we see this missing from QWERTY keyboard devices. The actual User-Guide for N900 has been closed by Nokia but you can find one here if you need it. Here are some shortcuts found in the User Guide: General Shortcuts:
You can use the shift key (far left) and the directional arrows on the keyboard to select text. Or you can use the stylus and double tap for a word or triple tap for all words in a document to select. Browser Shortcuts:
Apart from these shortcuts, N900 has a great support for gestures. Gestures are a combination of predefined swipes or clicks on the touchscreen where each combination represents a special action. The following gestures should help you out as well. Gestures: Circle zooming: A double tap on text in the web browser zooms you into that text and reflows it for the display. However, you can spin your finger clockwise on the display to zoom in or counterclockwise to zoom out through multiple zoom levels. Browser history swipe: You can quickly view your browser history (virtual history supported) by simply swiping your finger from the right off outside the viewable display to the left onto the display. Make a call from Conversations: You can tap and hold on a text message conversation to see a pop-up appear so you can initiate a call with your contact. There’s a lot more on the manual and I’ll try to bring out the rest as I find more. Nokia N900 keyboard shortcuts is an article on: Blogsolute You may also like to read |
