Make Most of Twitter Lists : A Complete Showdown

Posted: 06 Nov 2009 06:03 AM PST

Twitter has recently rolled out an innovative feature called as "Twitter Lists". It's been around 20 days since Twitter started rolling out lists to everyone but it seems now that Lists have been rolled out to everyone. We at Blogsolute in this post provide a complete showdown of Twitter Lists.

According to Twitter, they were receiving suggestions from Twitter Users that they wanted their "Twitter to be more organized". Built basically around the Follow Friday model, it is a good feature of recommending certain people to your followers. As of now only the Web Interface of Twitter and Seesmic Desktop support lists, but with the twitter team making the Lists API available, we expect other Twitter Applications to follow the same.

Creating New Lists:

You can create a new list by clicking on the New List feature. You will be given an option of either keeping the list public or private. Making a public list will make the list accessible by all and making it private means it will be accessible only by you.

You can add people by either visiting their profile and clicking on the list button and then choosing which list to place the contact in. Another method to add people is by clicking on your Followers/Following lists and then managing them in lists from there on.

You can follow various lists created by Twitter Users. The Lists you are following and the ones you follow will appear on the Web Interface above the trending topics. You can open up the lists and check out what Twitter users recommended in that particular list have tweeted.
